WeSpeakBXL — Call for Young Creators (18–30) in Brussels!
- Deadline to apply: March 8, 2026
- Project starts: April 1, 2026
Are you a young storyteller?
Are you a young storyteller, student, second-generation youth, activist, or creative living in Brussels? Do you care about local politics, feminism, climate, or post-colonial culture, but feel like your voice isn’t reflected in local media?
Join WeSpeakBXL, Brussels’ first youth-led, cross-linguistic newsroom!
WeSpeakBXL is a new youth-led newsroom for Brussels, bringing together up to 20 young people aged 18-30 to co-create bold, multimedia stories about the city. From local politics to feminism, post-colonial culture, and climate justice, this is your time to experiment, connect, and make local media more inclusive, from the ground up!
Over 6 months, selected participants will receive hands-on training in digital storytelling (video, podcasting, articles, social content), collaborate on original pieces, and take part in public events and editorial labs.
You can come from any background and speak any language, but the working language of the project is English. We’re especially encouraging applications from those who also speak French, Dutch, Italian, or Spanish.
