Today, the focus is rightly on Ukraine, and my message to the leaders was that we have made real progress over the past weeks. In fact, we can say that this is the closest we have come to ending this illegal war, and we must keep up the momentum. To do so, we need to stand united with our Ukrainian partners and work closely with all our allies. We must ensure that this war is not merely postponed, but definitively ended, and that requires strong and robust security guarantees to ensure Ukraine’s security and, ultimately, Europe’s security. That is why it is so important that we find a solution to provide Ukraine with the financing it needs.
